HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDERSON TEXAS _ TORNADO RELIEF
Eric Ryan Anderson
On June 2, a tornado touched down in Sanderson, destroying several buildings including our friends at Ferguson Motors. Luckily nobody was seriously hurt, but much work needs to be done to continue revitalizing these buildings and the community that has been born from this place.
Several years ago, Jake Hamilton and his family purchased this old Ford dealership and have been pouring their lives into building a coffee shop, community space and music venue for the people of Sanderson and thousands of folks passing through and in need of a coffee, beer or meal.
In an effort to help offset a few of their rebuilding costs... We want to offer a special edition of this book, which took Sanderson as it’s namesake. It’s a special place with special people. For each book sold, we’ll donate the profits to Ferguson Motors and send a special 8x10 print with the book. (*to be shipped late June).
If you don’t want to buy the book, consider donating directly at the link below!

Photographed over the span of thirteen years in his native state, Happy Birthday Sanderson Texas reveals a wandering exploration on lineage, legacy and legend as seen via landscape, portraiture and abstraction. After spending a quarter century immersed in Texas culture and narrative, Eric left the state. Only in the ensuing years, through conversations around the world, did he start to see what “Texas” meant to people and how that clashed with the reality of his upbringing. Thus, a sometimes-sporadic exploration of the state began. This project began as a study on roots and family lineage, morphed into an exploration of death and life and resurrection, and ultimately found nuance and value in a quiet little town called Sanderson.
